It's good to see Scarface still moving units after all this time, he's definitely a legend

Heard the Lupe, loved it and as i said yesterday, its time to go cop, Best Buy, here I come.

A side note on Little Brother: The Minstrel Show album which received 4.5 mics in the Source actually originally received 5 mics. The editor in chief at the time personally reviewed the album and gave it 5 mics. Unfortunately the Source still under the Benzino and Dave Mays "leadership" played politics and told their editor-in-chief that he needed to reduce his rating to 4.5 mics because they wanted to give Lil' Kim 5 mics for her album. Well as a result, the EIC quit his job at the Source and the rest of the Source's downfall is history. When I read about this, i had to hear the album that caused all this hoopla and it was definitely worth it. LB is that group!

Y'all know how I feel about Budden. Go download that!

First of Joe Budden is THAT DUDE.. And one of the main reasons he is that dude is because the pictures that he paints with his words lets you know how dedicated to his craft he really is. True Legends and Rappers who sustained in the game, you could close your eyes and see what they were rapping about. And if personally you couldn't relate you could still see the movie in your mind.. (Ie.. Biggies drug talk). Big didn't just talk about how he sold drugs and got money to buy $1000 pair of jeans.. Big painted a picture, and even though we knew some parts were exaggerated we never questioned the integrity of the story, because it was just that a story mixing fact and fiction..not only to let us in but also to make us think (more in a sec. Part two of my rant.. The reason we no longer see this type of artistry)

BIG was the best at it, BIG wasn't a conscious rapper, gangster rapper, flossy rapper....BIG was all of those plus more he was never stuck in one category. Thats what made him that nice.

I agree with gWiz. I was listening to HOT 97 and they asked Styles P who HE thought was the best rapper of all time. And he said Big because most rappers have a niche: classy rap, gangster rap, and so on. And they are great at what they do, but only in that category, but Big was all of that and more. Not every rapper can dabble in all categories, have the lyrics and still be believable/ entertaining. There is something to be said about the person who can/ did that...BIG.

Gwiz I co sign that all day.. To add to that BIG understood what it meant to be versatile so he wouldn't be placed in a box. Rappers these days are scared to be different and try to run with what's hot.. They don't realize what's Hot now will not last.. To put it in another perspective miskeen was hot when it first came out. It had its target audience and it did what it did until the trends changed and now they try to branch out and catch up. Now look at Polo... timeless.. Never fell off, no matter when u wear it it still looks fly and the same shirt u had 15 years ago can still rock today... BIG was Polo anybody and everybody could feel him. Plus he had the personality and charisma to make u want to be different -"Black and ugly as ever, however"

Little Brother definitely has that De La Soul type feel to them. If I can put "Good Clothes" on at a family bar-b-q and have my mom bopping to it, but it's actually good hip hop, that's a good look. I heard them before and overlooked but now I think I might become a believer. Must copp Get Back!!!

BIG = Polo... EXCELLENT Analogy!!!

I'm sure we will revisit the G.O.A.T. debate at another time.

Yes, Getback is an incredible album and "Good Clothes" and "Two Step Blues" definitely makes you feel good about life. And I doesn't hurt that momma and little cousin can rock to it too.

LB made my "Best of 2007" list which will drop soon. Stay tuned...
