I'll show you how to do that son...

By now I'm sure you all know that the Roots are the new house band for Jimmy Fallon's late night show.

The best band in the land is a prime example of how to make it in this game without platinum sales. They mastered the concept of developing a core audience and making sure that they serve them day in and day out. They tour more than any other Hip-Hop act and they sell out all over the country.

They are the best at what they do and their ridiculous talent and critical acclaim set them up for one of the most financially secure positions of any rap group out. NBC's checks don't bounce. Word.

Pay homage.

Jus....you know I've been down with the Roots since day one and I am a part of that core audience that loves what they have done with hip hop. They have obviously not retired from the road....but are much more limited in the shows that they do. I'm excited for them because no one deserves it more. For years now....they've carried the essence of hip hop is supposed to be without confining themselves to a particular sound. Musically you never know what you are going to get from them.....except for hot shit and hands down the best live show.

Exactly! you gotta respect the champs. they shut down live shows better than anyone and they've done it for so much longer. They so fly that they got Hov doing all his shows with a live band now.

Quest is a genius. I'm glad they getting that NBC paper. You know those checks are always on time and they don't bounce.

shouts to Jimmy Fallon for thinking outside the box too.

Yo, I'm really happy to see deserving artists make it. Word to those NBC checks, haha.

I remember when me, wiz, and chustle (fasho) went to see Hov and the Roots band, I think it was in worcester. Honestly, I was there to see the roots rip Timbo beats. Hov is great, but those dudes are musical geniuses.
